Ravens Against Sky

Dr. Callie Wallace is hiding a dark secret, which is on the brim of being discovered by her hospital administrators. Blind Vision by Nina Blakeman is a medical drama and thriller that keeps readers turning the pages — as twisty as it can get!

Set in Sperling, Texas, bubbly Dr. Callie Wallace and her long-time friend, Dr. Richard Cortez, have finally returned home to set up their neurology practice. Dr. Cortez and Dr. Wallace met each other in medical school and have developed a deep friendship, one Callie feels too strongly about. Nevertheless, trouble begins when Mr. Clyde Murphy dies under mysterious circumstances at the Lake Sperling Medical Center. The Murphy’s are a wealthy and influential family in the area, and Clyde Murphy’s widow is furious at the hospital for their lack of attention and care. All fault seemingly points to Dr. Callie Wallace, the admitting physician for Clyde Murphy, and Mrs. Clyde Murphy is bent on revenge. Aside from these hospital difficulties, Callie struggles with reality as she is seen mock fighting with an invisible opponent and converses with her deceased father late at night. All these problems, mixed with the fact that she might lose her best friend, Dr. Richard Cortez, to Sara Townsend, make matters worse for Callie, and she is instructed to undergo health and psychological tests by the hospital administration. Can she get a grip of her before herself before her life crumbles?

Blind Vision by Nina Blakeman is an intriguing and thrilling medical tale that deals with a protagonist experiencing weird hallucinations and many additional personal problems. Callie is in denial of her mental health problems which makes the story’s premise more compelling. Blakeman has created the perfect chemistry between Callie and Dr. Richard Cortez, as fans will find themselves rooting for the couple even with Callie’s odd behavior. The complexity in character development had me enthralled and the author’s ingenious portrait of the inner world of the protagonist lifts the quality of the entertainment. It is a suspenseful story with strong psychological underpinnings and memorable characters.
