I live in the mountains of the Algarve with my son, two opionated ponies and our dog. When my son was younger, we travelled a lot in our campervan throughout Europe. These travels inspired The Magic Campervan books. Before I had my son, I studied Russian language and literature and, later, I completed an MA in creative writing at the University of East Anglia and taught both at the university and the Art College in Norwich. I still teach online courses for universities in the UK as well as run writing workshops locally. My own writing ranges from kids hating Mondays, to cockroaches travelling across Russia and gods embroiled in petty squabbles to daring crossings over the Berlin Wall. I tend to play with magic but with my feet on the ground. The Trials of Tricia Blake is an earlier book and more rooted in the gritty realism from my childhood before I found the magic in campervans.
